HEMPFIELD AND TAYLOR ALLDERDICE GIRLS' BASKETBALL COACHES SELECTED FOR ANNUAL SERVICE AWARD
Bob Gallagher, President of the Western Pennsylvania Youth Basketball Club, Inc. is pleased to announce that the recipients of the annual Don Barth Coaches Recognition Award for Outstanding Service to the Club and to the basketball community will be presented to Gene Brisbane, Girls Basketball Coach at Hempfield High School, and to Janet Davis, Girls Basketball Coach at Taylor Allderdice High School, on April 13, 2003 at half-time of the 4:00 game of the Eat'n Park Pennsylvania Girls High School Roundball Classic. They are outstanding coaches, who devote significant time to assist their players to learn the lessons of life on the court and in the classroom. We are delighted to present this award and we are very appreciative of their valued support to our Club and the girls' basketball community.
Don Barth was the former coach of North Catholic and the most successful girls' basketball coach in Pennsylvania history. The Club presents an annual coaches award in his name. Previous recipients include William Cleary (Serra Catholic) Major Corley (Monessen), Ernie Koontz (Upper St. Clair), Phyllis Jones (George Washington), Kathy Olesak (Schenley), David Werner (Brentwood), Bob Schulz (Avonworth), De Poruznik (Mt. Alvernia), Dori Anderson (Blackhawk) and Phil Shar (West Mifflin).

2002-2003 COCA-COLA DISTRICT PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Bob Gallagher, President of the Western Pennsylvania Youth Basketball Club, Inc. announced the following District Players of the Year have been selected as award winners for their tremendous performance on the court during the year. Each individual will receive a handsome award sponsored by Coca-Cola. The players will be presented their awards at the Western Pennsylvania Girls High School Hall of Fame Banquet on May 8 at Sheraton Station Square Hotel. They will also be mentioned in the program as District Player of the Year for the "Eat'n Park Pennsylvania High School Girls Roundball Classic" on April 13, 2003 at the University of Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House.
